Hi! I’m Afnan!
I am an independent researcher and consultant in formation, working at the intersection of technology, governance, sustainability, and systems thinking. My background is in academia, research, and applied technology, with published work in peer-reviewed journals and public writing in Bangla and English.
I am currently building a consulting practice focused on helping organizations, particularly in emerging economies, navigate ESG, compliance, and digital transformation in practical, resilient ways grounded in local realities. My interest lies in how global standards such as ESG requirements, buyer compliance expectations, data-governance norms, cybersecurity principles, and digitalization frameworks can be translated into systems that organizations can realistically sustain and improve over time, rather than treated as box-ticking exercises.
Much of my thinking is shaped by a simple observation: many transformation efforts fail not because of a lack of ambition, but because resilience, governance, and human capacity are treated as afterthoughts. My approach, therefore, emphasizes clarity over complexity, evidence over hype, and resilience over speed, turning dense technical or regulatory demands into usable, context-aware roadmaps.
As I develop my practice, my current focus areas include digital transformation and governance, ESG and buyer-compliance readiness, policy, institutions, and resilience. These reflect where I am actively researching, learning, and preparing to engage through pilot and exploratory work.
Alongside consulting, I remain active in research and writing, including peer-reviewed publications, newspaper articles, and long-form theoretical work that examine how people interact with systems, narratives, and institutions. In parallel, I maintain creative practices that sharpen my perspective on systems, help communicate complexity with clarity, and frame long-term challenges.
I am currently open to exploratory conversations, pilot engagements, and collaborations with organizations, researchers, and practitioners interested in building thoughtful, resilient approaches to sustainability, technology, and governance.
